Our School
Established in 1846, Manchester High School Central is the oldest public high school in the state of New Hampshire. Central is a comprehensive four-year school of approximately 1,200 students and the faculty and staff is made up of 135 experienced educators who are here to serve the students. The school offers students a high quality academic and social experience which is unsurpassed and prepares students well for the rigors of citizenship in America in the new millennium. Central has a very wide range of courses and offerings. Beyond the basic required courses (see requirements), there is a diverse variety of classes and programs which should interest any child. Using the Program of Studies, you can select from this varied assortment and put in place a program tailor-made to your interests. Central also has available a wide range of extracurricular organizations, clubs, and athletic programs. No student will fully maximize their potential without participating in one of these fine groups. The range in scope is impressive. Central has programs which relate to every area of course content, organizations which promote civic consciousness, and an athletic program with enormous tradition.
