Safety Assessment & Intervention Team

To support Violence Prevention efforts, the Manchester School District is collaborating with the Manchester Police Department through two Federal grants: Project AWARE & STOP School Violence to establish Safety Assessment & Intervention Teams in all of the District's schools.

School Safety Concern Reporting Form

Report knowledge of potential violence against a school or individual. Anyone can make a report. No personal information (name/email/phone) is required or collected unless you choose to provide it.

Suicide is a serious public health problem that can have lasting harmful effects on individuals, families, and communities. The goal of suicide prevention is to reduce factors that increase risk and increase factors that promote resilience (CDC.gov)

Gizmo

Gizmo's Pawsome Guide to Mental Health is data driven and evidence informed. This developmentally appropriate curriculum discuss the importance of one's mental health and how to use healthy coping strategies and connect with a trusted adult when needed.

SOS

Mindwise Innovation's Signs of Suicide (SOS) is an evidence-based youth suicide prevention program that has demonstrated an improvement in student's knowledge and adaptive attitudes about suicide risk and depression. SOS teaches students how to identify signs of depression and suicide in themselves and their peers, while providing materials that support school professionals, parents, and communities in recognizing at-risk students and taking appropriate action.

Substance Misuse Prevention

Work is in progress for this prevention piece of the District's MTSS-B framework in collaboration with the community. This includes vaping prevention efforts.

Dating Violence Prevention

Work is in progress for this piece of the District's MTSS-B framework in collaboration with the community. Dating violence prevention was highlighted as an area of need in the 2022 Greater Manchester Community Health Needs assessment.
