Community Partners

Do you have an engaging opportunity for a motivated high school student with a special interest in your field of work?

Do you have time to help mentor a student as he or she explores a topic of interest for high school credit?

Could your business or organization benefit from the involvement of a student intern?

Does your organization offer a learning opportunity that would benefit a group of high school students?

If so, the ELO program needs you! Community Partners are needed to help Manchester high school students succeed in their ELO goals.

Community Partners in the ELO process

  • Meet with the ELO Coordinator, Cooperating Teacher, and student to discuss student goals

  • Meet with the Manchester ELO Team to discuss the proposal of any new Group ELO. Click here to fill out a Community Partner Group ELO Proposal Form

  • Determine If the student is a good match for your business or organization and sign off on the student's ELO Project Outline.

  • Agree to all requirements as prescribed by the Department of Labor and the Manchester School District. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and work within our schools, please click onto this link: volunteers.mansd.org/

  • Provide orientation to site policies and procedures as appropriate to the ELO plan.

  • Engage in regular dialogue with the Cooperating Teacher/ELO Coordinator to discuss student progress.

  • Communicate any issues in a timely manner to the Cooperating Teacher or the ELO Coordinator.

  • Participate in assessment of the student work and, if possible, attend the student's final presentation.

To get involved, please contact an ELO Coordinator today.
