MANCHESTER – The Manchester School District’s 2024-2025 High School Course Catalog is now available online, and printed copies will be available soon. You can find a link to the catalog, as well as other important information, on our high school course selection page.
The course catalog, also known as the program of studies, contains course offerings for all four high schools, and also offers information about graduation requirements, and programs offered. Superintendent Jennifer Chmiel Gillis said after a major overhaul last year, the catalog takes steps forward in helping students plot their future pathways.
“A year ago, we made a series of major changes to the high school course selection process,” Gillis said. “We released a completely overhauled course catalog and moved up the entire course selection timeline. This year, we continued to take major steps forward, opening more career pathways to help focus students on future preparedness.”
With the release of the catalog, the course selection process now kicks into gear for the 2024-2025 school year. In early February, schools will host information sessions, and teachers will enter course recommendations for students. Before leaving for February break, students from Grades 8 through 11 will select their courses. As was the case last year, the goal is for students to have finalized schedules before leaving for summer vacation.
“I’m proud of the progress that we’ve made and excited to see students navigating their high school careers in a whole new way,” Gillis said. “We’ve continued to add concurrent enrollment courses and begun to offer opportunities to earn opportunity-boosting industry-recognized credentials. Our goal is to continue to find new and innovative ways to spark student interest through educational opportunities. It’s an exciting time and we are eager to see where our students’ pathways lead them.”
