MANCHESTER – Every year, high school students from across New Hampshire have the opportunity to audition for multiple state-wide music festivals. As was the case last year, more than a dozen Manchester high school students were chosen this year – with some even being chosen for multiple festivals.
In all, 13 students were selected, with the music departments of Central, Memorial and West all represented. The NHMEA Jazz All-State Festival takes place February 6-8 in Derry, and the NHMEA All-State Festival takes place April 2-4 in Concord. The District will recognize all students at the Board of School Committee meeting on Monday, February 10.
“Reaching this level requires lots of talent and practice, and we are thrilled to once again have so many students recognized,” said Superintendent Jennifer Chmiel. “This is a testament not just to the determination of these students but to the quality of our school music programs, from elementary school all the way up through high school.”
