MANCHESTER – Thanks to a new partnership, Manchester School District 2nd Graders have the opportunity to take free dance classes through the Palace Theatre.
The free, six-week program kicked off on Wednesday, January 15, at the new studios on 77 Amherst Street. The overwhelming response of 60 students has led to the addition of another session to accommodate all interested participants. This initiative is part of a growing collaboration between the district and the Palace Theatre to bring more enriching arts experiences to Manchester students.
"This is a great partnership and an exciting opportunity for our second grader students to explore dance," said Ed Doyle, Director of Fine Arts for the Manchester School District. "Programs like this foster a love for the arts at an early age and set students on a path toward lifelong learning. We look forward to seeing more collaborations like this in the future."
The dance classes mark the beginning of what promises to be a series of innovative arts programs for district students, ensuring that arts education remains accessible and impactful.
“This program is a testament to the power of collaboration and our community's commitment to enriching student experiences,” said Nicole Doherty, Assistant Superintendent of the Manchester School District. “We are incredibly grateful to all those whose support has made this initiative successful. With 60 students enrolled, the enthusiasm for these free dance classes is inspiring, and we’re excited about the opportunities it opens for our children.”
