Does your family qualify for free or reduced lunch? We urge you to take a moment to complete the online form for food assistance at school. Only one form qualifies the entire family, so there's no need to fill out multiple forms for different children or schools. If you need assistance with the form, please don't hesitate to visit the school and ask for help from Mrs. Wheeler or our bilingual liaison, Carlos Cardona.
It's important to note that students eating school breakfast and lunch this year have been accruing a charge each day. You will receive a bill if you haven't completed the form online or via paper copy; however, if your family has been "Direct Certified" for free meals at school, no further applications are needed. Families who are Direct Certified qualify for and receive SNAP benefits.
Even if you don't plan to use the school breakfast or lunch program, applying for this benefit can still be advantageous. It could entitle you to discounted participation in the before- and after-school program, 21st Century, and also support our Title 1 educational support programming, directly impacting reading and math outcomes.
Participation is essential, and we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. By applying for the free or reduced lunch program, you will benefit your family and contribute to the overall well-being of our school community. Thank you for your attention to this matter. |

On Monday, each class will discuss their specific lockdown procedures. Teachers will give detailed instructions to students on what to do in case of a lockdown. It's important for parents to talk to their children about how to respond in an emergency at school or in public. Throughout the school year, we will have regular fire drills, lockdown drills, and other emergency preparedness exercises to ensure everyone is well-prepared and to maintain a safe school environment. |

In October, the class with the fewest unexcused absences will win the class attendance challenge. We understand that there may be unavoidable reasons for your student's absence, but it's important to let the school know when they can't make it. You can excuse absences with a simple call or email to the school, as long as your student has missed less than ten days. Absences can also be excused with a doctor's note. We know how important attendance is, but it's equally important to keep your student home if they have a fever, are vomiting, or have diarrhea for 24 hours after the symptoms go away. |
