MANCHESTER – Just before the start of winter break, Central High's Counseling Department hosted "Cocoa with a Counselor" to engage with students and share info on services offered by the department.
The idea for the event – and the question for students of "how do you celebrate?" – came from a student who shared his favorite tradition from his home country, Dominican Republic. The student remembered drinking hot cocoa and singing carols with family and friends.
Throughout the day, the event drew in 380 students, which was for many a first visit to the department. With course selections coming up early next year, those new connections should come in hand for students and counseling staff alike.
