MANCHESTER – As part of Manchester School District's work to build a long-term master plan for school district facilities, we are seeking community input. At this stage, we are working to establish community goals and values about what our schools should look like in the future. Those goals and values will help drive creation of the master plan.

You can participate in this process in one of two ways: by taking part in live, interactive "visioning" sessions or by filling out a quick survey. Details on the visioning sessions and the survey are below:

Visioning sessions

You are invited to participate in a pair of "visioning sessions" this summer. These sessions will help provide a better understanding of the master planning process. Since they are in-depth and interactive, this is also a great opportunity to have an impact on the process.

This work is spread out across two sessions – the first on July 10 and the second on July 20 – so it is essential that you are able to participate in both sessions. (Both sessions will be held online using Zoom.)

  • Session 1: Monday, July 10 - 5-8 p.m.
  • Session 2: Thursday, July 20 - 5-8 p.m.

If you are able to participate in both sessions, you can RSVP by filling out the form at the bottom of this post.

Survey

For those who are not able to take part in the live visioning sessions, you can take a quick survey to make an impact on the master planning process. Before you take the survey, we recommend looking over this recap of the visioning session process

Once you've read the recap, you can take the survey on Survey Monkey by clicking this link.

You can read more about the process below:

What is a master plan? Manchester School District is building a long-term master plan for school facilities. We are working with SMMA, an architectural/engineering firm, to build this master plan, which will serve as a road map for what our school buildings will look like for this and the next generation of students. As part of the process of building the master plan, SMMA is gathering information on buildings, demographics and other data points. Beyond that data, however, we need to understand what the community wants and needs from school facilities. That’s where visioning sessions come in.

What is a visioning session? Visioning sessions are an interactive process – our partners will lead participants through a presentation, using digital tools and break-out groups to gather feedback along the way. The feedback you will provide will help establish priorities and goals that will drive the master plan. We are excited and appreciative that you are taking part in this process – working together, we will build a stronger, community-centered plan for our school buildings. In April, we held several kick-off visioning sessions – you can read more about those sessions here.
